Drupal's Unstoppable Atomic Paradigm Shift
Ever since I was asked to “build a site we can update ourselves”, I began the move from web designer to web developer, and started my hunt for the best tools for the job. This was around 2003. At that time PHP and MySQL were really taking hold as *the* web scripting and database combination, driving a nail into the coffin of technologies such as Cold Fusion, and making the web an...

I have a new tumblog
don’t judge me. It’s about pro wrestling. http://onefall.tumblr.com/ I started it so you don’t have to see my wrestling posts on here if you don’t want. I’m a huge nerd.

THE KIDS IN THE HALL RETURN! →
nickmaynard: Fifteen years after The Kids in the Hall aired on CBC Television, the five original members of the Canadian sketch comedy team have reassembled in North Bay, Ont., to shoot an eight-part TV series. Death Comes to Town will premiere on CBC in January. The series is about a killing spree in a small town and the trial that follows. It opens with the character of Death, played by Mark...

1 Week with iPhone 3GS
So, I just got an iPhone 3GS, and gave ATT my soul for another 2 years. Before this, I had the original first generation iPhone which I loved, so here’s the skinny: The good schtuff: The Speed. The phone is FAST. Compared to the 1st gen at least. I never had a 3G so I can’t compare to that. But syncing seems to be much faster, opening apps is nearly instant in most cases, on a decent...

Mac Apps I Can't Live Without
Regarding my previous post, here are the apps I went and downloaded again right away that I live by: Quicksilver - Hands down my favorite. It can be as simple as a quick app launcher, or do everything from perform google searches, move files around, run shell scripts etc. Here’s how you use it: hit ctrl-space and start typing. Type anything. Start typing the name of a contact, their face...

Warning: Super-Long Nerdy Mac Rambling Ahead:
So, today, I got a blue screen of death… on a Macbook Pro… not the old familiar Windows one, but a rather, pastel blue color, with no error message, and a black cursor. I did everything I could think of, refresh the p-ram, reset the nv-ram, repair disk permissions, repair the disk, nothing fixed the problem. Luckily I had a time machine backup from a week ago, as well as a Mobile Me...
