Favorite iPhone Apps #1:
Brushes is an amazingly simple concept: make finger paintings on your iPhone. There have been a lot of doodling apps that have come out but this one really allows you to make high quality paintings.
What’s Awesome: You can grab the files off your phone in their own .brushes format and put them on your computer, with a desktop viewer, and export 1920 x 2880 pixel images (above is a cropped closeup of the first painting I did with it). You can also export stop-motion animation quicktime movies of your work, because it records the entire brush stroke history. There are only three brushes, but they look great, and the sizes are adjustable, you have a full color spectrum picker and can adjust the opacity (which makes for a nice water color effect)
What’s not so awesome: Not a whole lot here. I could see a smudge feature or more brushes being a nice addition, but really, the limited toolset allows you to focus on your creativity.
