Starts off super weak, first real dungeon requires about 15 minutes of level grinding to even get through, but after that, the game shows TONs of promise. There’s a fun guest party member where a 5th non playable member might join your team and even help in battle. Its much lighter themed than FF2, and you can tell FF9 was inspired by it. The job system is fun, and in the DS version, the characters even get different costumes based on what jobs you give them.

Also the 3D remake is a nice touch, much like the FF4 DS remake.
