So I guess this is what the kids are into these days? I’m not entirely sure if I’m really upset that this exists or if I’m really beside myself with joy that this exists. I know that this is awful, but if you stick with it to the end, you’ll be amazed.

Yes! This came up in my feedreader this morning (via here) and I was wondering had it hit Tumblr yet, or at least the corner of it I follow. This is auto-tuned screamo, but not in the Brokencyde, utterly-bereft-of-redeeming-value sort of way, but rather as if the guys from Autotune the News took over a Sing the Sorrows-era AFI video (an album which I very much like, by the way). It’s still musically atrocious, of course, but at least it resembles sounds I enjoy, and I can sit through it in order to appreciate the awfulness. The only way they could have made this better would be to subtitle in some dance move instructions.
Perhaps the best pejorative genre-titling ever. Better than emocore, better than impressionism. Embrace the crab.
I couldn’t really grasp the “Crabcore” thing until I watched it. Perfect.
And for real, watch until the end. The synth player has his moment to shine and it’s beautiful.
